5 Things Christian Parents Must Do to Raise Godly Children in a Secular World
This gap between 1) knowing our secular world will influence our kids’ faith and 2) understanding what exactly that means for parents, is nearly universal. And it often leads to fear and frustration—parents know there’s a problem but they don’t know the solution.
But as fathers we can ensure that our own children are raised with the rich fertilizer of fatherly affection and esteem.
A godly father plants good things in the hearts of his children. He plants:
- The seeds of his own faith in Christ.
- A longing for truth and goodness.
- His hopes and dreams for the godly man or woman the child will become.
- His own confidence that the child has all the gifting and capacity needed to serve God faithfully in whatever way God may genuinely call.

We have a desire to live for the Lord and have deep convictions that our sin dishonors God. But somewhere in our pursuit of godliness we forget that it’s only by God’s grace that we can live for him. It is God who has granted us all things that pertain to life and godliness.
