Last night I had the opportunity to speak to the youth at Watson Chapel Baptist Church and I asked them to evaluate the condition of their heart.
How is your heart?
Jesus said, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matt. 6:21 ESV). So I guess we can ask another question to dig a little deeper, what does your heart treasure? To delve even deeper we can ask, what do we allow our heart to treasure?
Just three verses later Jesus tells us, “no one can serve two masters.” So who is the master of your heart? One of the ways we can evaluate who or what has our heart is by what we feed our hearts. We use our senses to input stuff in our heart.
What are you watching?
What are you reading?
What are you thinking or pondering on?
What are you listening to?
Everything you see, touch and feel is inputting something into your heart. What goes into the heart will eventually come out in behaviors.
Is what you are inputting in your heart God glorifying?
Are you watching/reading/listening to sinful thoughts/points of view?
Do you filter what you read/watch/listen to by the Word of God?
Who or what has your heart?
Is your heart divided?
Evaluate your heart today…
